The past weekend five of DAHS learners participated in the Northern Cape Closed Chess trials.

The learners that participated was: Ryan Owies, Jayden Besuidenhout, Lbhongo Biko, Likhanyile Mdaka and Amand Kitenge.

Each of the players played 5 rounds in total over the entire weekend.

Amand Kitengye managed to win 4 out of 5 rounds and took the third place in his age group. He will aslo be in the u/16 team to represent the province in the SA Junior Chess Championships (SAJCC) which will take place in Johannesburg, January 2020.
