On Tuesday 7 September Mr. Jan Botha, a teacher at De Aar High School, attended the provincial teacher award ceremony in Kimberley.

These awards aim to recognise excellence in the teaching profession and where hosted by the Northern Cape MEC for education, Mr. Zolile Monakali and the Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr. Zamani Saul.

Mnr. Jan Botha het die eersteplek in sy kategorie, Uitnemendheid in Hoërskool Onderwys, verower.

Hy het lekker pryse gewen en gaan die Noord-Kaap by die Nasionale Onderwystoekennings verteenwoordig.

Die onderhoude vir die Nasionale Onderwystoekennings vind in September plaas.

Die Nasionale Toekenningseremonie sal in Oktober in Pretoria plaasvind.
